- Living-together evidence should cover the whole period. Joint leases, bills and bank records carry more weight than photos
- Time apart needs a reasonable explanation and a record of contact
- You should both describe the relationship the same way, especially at interview
Questions
Does marriage guarantee a partner visa?
No. INZ assesses whether the relationship is genuine and stable. A marriage certificate is one piece of evidence.
What if we have not lived together long enough?
A partner work or visitor visa may come first, with residence once the requirement is met. We plan this at the assessment.
